HD44780 and 7-segment displays (by hunoell)
If someone of you might be interested!
In 2007 I had some time left and prepared a few ldmicro-
programs and diagrams for the HD44780 and 7-segment displays.
All applications are tested.
In one of them I'm even applying 3 x 4 keypad.
Feel free to write me, I'll send them to you!
Only if you have any questions, it could take me some time
to answer, because I haven't got these experiments ready
anymore. Anyway, all applications are pretty well described
and commented.

HD44780 and 7-segment displays, ladder and diagrams (by hunoell)
Hi ldmicro-friends,
it appears to me, that there is a real interest in my works.
So I'll send you my diagrams and ladder programs all
together.
Most diagrams are based on the STK500/501 boards of Atmel.
In case you don't use those, you'll have to adapt.
That should not be a big problem, as long as no typing
error occurs.
Have fun, when testing!
best regards
hunoell

toy programs (by hunoell)
Off course, it is a compliment for me that some people feel
grateful about my display thread.
But Jonathan’s UART features represent by all means the by
far more practical solutions.
The only trouble is, serial displays are not available in
some countries, that’s why I put this effort in preparing
ladder programs for displays.
And last not least, I had some time left in 2007 between two
jobs.
But still you may continue enjoying testing these toy
programs.
Maybe they are useful for some applications.
This is what I had to say.
best regards, hunoell

Hello friends, i have a problem simulating on proteus a serial lcd using 16f628a, i used some program that ihor made and it works ok, now i have made a similar program but it says "Attempted to read after writing a single nibble" on the simulation, what could be wrong? thanks all
(no subject) (by Alex)
it works ok for a few seconds
(no subject) (by Alex)
then it freezes, sometimes with some strange characters

Try to separate the cursor movements and the text.
I never had problems...but I don't use Proteus.
(no subject) (by Alex)
what do you use to simulate your programs? because i remember i had problems in proteus simulation using adc lm35 but in real life it worked ok, now it seems i have the same problem because i simaluated ihor´s program once again and it freezes but in real life it works ok

i remember the bike testimony, that was great, you are right better try on breadboard real life, i always had that question how about ldmicro limtations? i mean sometimes i get situations that i need something that arduino for example can give me solution rather than ldmicro can´t, but as i really like ldmicro, i tried to use that arduino solution and connect it to ldmicro via hardware in order to use ldmicro, but if i just go arduino for all?

i see the difference with and without circuit

I only use the arduino shields ;-)
Attached a file where you can see a 16F88 controlling some relays.

interesting like a picduino :D
i wanted to add to my selfmade modification stopwatch a message where everytime i stop or pause the watch a message "pausasdo (paused)" would show up, but there are some strange characters i don´t know how to get rid of them (in simulation they don´t show up just in real life)
and i don´t understand very well the use of \x00 everytime i send a message.

sorry for the potato cam, here is the ladder

check second 0:34 there is a ":1" that shows up

I tested your program on my 16F876a board and made some changes in rungs 20 and 25
Why do you add \x00 at end of the cursor setting instructions?
Now it works fine on my 16F876a board.
(no subject) (by Alex)
thanks a lot MGP now it works ok!! :) , i added \x00 because somehow in simulation there were some strange characters and by adding \x00 there wehere erased like the pics i added in "test serial.rar" but now by modifying like you did it works ok :),
by the way, how much memory was used in your 16F876a boar?
