Here's a program that takes an analogue signal and displays it on a 4 digit multiplex 7 segment display.

You will need to run a 20MHz crystal at the fastest scan cycle possible to avoid flickering.

I successfully tested the program with a pic16f88. Some flickering was still present with a 7.2MHz crystal with a scan time of 0.6ms and a refresh rate of 2.4ms for multiplexing.
