LDmicro Forum - Frequency switch?

Frequency switch? (by Tom J.)
I'm planning to build a little module that interupts the starter circuit on a custom car I'm working on. It's a race car with a clumsy push button starter on the dash and I'd like to ensure that pushing the button with the engine running doesn't result in engaging the starter.
If I'm not mistaken there was a ladder here that counted input pulses and compared them to clock pulses that would do the trick but I can't remember where it was.....
Does that sound familiar to anyone?
The target frequency would be about 2200hz, and since the application isn't exactly precision I'd like to run intosc at 4mhz on a PIC12, oh how I love my PIC12's.
Thanks in advance for any input.

You do not have to count pulses, a simple TOF does the same.
You can only start the car after 0.5sec without pulses, in this case.

The cycletime can not be less than 0.5mS = 200Hz but that's not important.

That's not exactly what I needed but thanks for the effort. I needed to sense the engine running, he had a remote start that did it for him.

Marcha vehiculo (by Paulino)
A question this vehicle, has a stop button or a contact before the engine starts, my question is because if it is as I commented, you should read, for example the oil pressure probe and when there is no oil pressure can be given to the start because if the vehicle is started, no matter how much is given to the start button the starter motor will not act.
if it is as I comment it places another line like the one that MPG has given you. With an internal relay and the contact you place it in front of the contact of the start button.
or you comment in this same way.

That's an interesting idea, but the vehicle would never start. One would have to manually prime the oil before each start.

encendido de vehículo (by Paulino)
Well, you can do it by discharging the spark plug and / or the platinum as I imagine it has no injection, with a delay, in analog,

Pues lo puedes hacer por la alta de la bujia y/o los platinos ya que imagino que no tiene inyección, con un retraso, en análoga,
