ATmega328 versus ATmega328PB (by Ziggy)
Ihor,

Please consider including ATmega328PB on the list of microcontrollers supported by LDmicro.

The difference between ATmega328 and ATmega 328PB is that 328PB has four additional IO lines ( four bits on port E).

ATmega328PB is not a drop-in replacement for ATmega328 variants, but a
new device. However, the functions are backward compatible with the
existing ATmega328 functions. Existing code for these devices will work in
the new devices without changing existing configuration or enabling new
functions. The code that is available for your existing ATmega328 variants
will continue to work on the new ATmega328PB device.

Thanks Ihor.
I had not seen the application note document.
Never the less four additional IO pins is a nice to have option.
In fact seeing as how port E carries four pins three of whihc are ADC inputs... it is a nice way to keep port E as ADC only port and use others as digital pins only ( provided 3 ADC inputs is sufficient).
