LDmicro Forum - save/compile issue

save/compile issue (by David R)
Hi,

There is A small issue when I save the program.ld
it tries to compile.hex to the same directory not the last place I compiled to.

This is A important as AVR studio keeps programing from the same file.

If Ldmicro could remember the last place compiled to and stay there even if the file.ld save changes
(also rember the save.ld location as it does)
this would be good.

Regards
David.

Hi,
I see how the file system works
I think my problem is with new files or files that had been compiled some ware else in the past.
I guess saving the compile info to the .ld file is the only way of doing it without writing it to the registry or something?.
Regards
David

This is correct. The output file name and path get saved in the .ld file, so that will always be the same. But for a new .ld file, there is not yet a saved output filename, so LDmicro will ask you to specify one. By default, that will be the same directory as the most recent file specified using an open/save file dialog, probably the same directory as your .ld file.

It might be good if I did save the most recent output filename in the registry, and used that as the default when a new .ld file was compiled. But that might be confusing in some cases too.

the issue I had was my own fault, as I had A bug in my program And I had copied code to another .ld file with notepad and recompiled it
and my bug was stall there, but what the problem was compiling to an old folder and I was still programing off the other file I thought I was going mad! for about 2 days.

(if I read the notice it does till me)
