Industrial hmi (by Ahmad sakr)
Is it possible to use microcontroller with industrial hmi like plc?
If yes what is the type of hmi and the software ?

I thought I read that someone was working on using a Nextion HMI to send instruction to PIC but I don't see it anywhere now.
Nextion is advertised as being Arduino compatible.

Is there a reason I couldn't take a Nextion and run it into the PIC's RX, then connect an LCD module to the TX and have a PIC read the incoming UART, format it into a string and send it out to the LCD so I could just write it down so I know what the incoming data looks like?

Hi
I tried Triton (XScada micset) and ldmicro with arduino uno by using serial USB to my laptop, it's good.
But I need to use ldmicro with hmi like plc Siemens, Omron or any other plc with hmi.
Did anyone can help?

Last night I ordered a small Nextion Enhanced HMI and the little breakout board that appears to have 8 IO pins so even if the data doesn't work that will at least be useful. I may even be able to use them in a binary fashion.
