LDmicro supports larger AVRs than PIC16s. (In fact, larger PIC16 parts just aren't available; there's fundamental limitations due to the number of bits in the instruction set.)
Aside from that, there's not much reason to choose one over the other. The PICs are often cheaper, but in small volumes the difference is negligible.

A Progam for Ldmicro compiled with atmega32 has 12KB and 16F877 is 6.4Kb, considering each ATMEGA memory is better because you can upload one Progam double in size.
So it's a pretty big difference
