While ladder logic diagrams are a straight forward idea I need some guidance and explanation on the utility of MASTER RLY

Can it be used to allow a single pass through a part of the ladder which would say allow initial ladder state to be recorded so that once the normal iterations through the loop commence the initial state can be referred to?
