Help needed (by Migde)
Hi, the program seems interesting and i tought of trying it out but i met some problems, MCU list there are two PIC16F877 of which i don't know which to choose. Also have tried them both out and haven't had success. I have an olimex proto board PIC-P40 which has a push button on Pin10 and LED on pin2. Therefor i wrote a simple prog when i press the button the led is energized. I then compiled the program and programmed the PIC16F877 with a PIC programmer from Quasarelectronics 3117 after i put the PIC into the Proto board. Unfortunately it didn't work. I have already used my hardware in the past with no problems. Usually i programmed the PIC's with PIC Basic.
Can anyone help?

There is only one PIC16F877 in the list of microcontrollers. Perhaps you chose the PIC16F887 by mistake?
I would suggest that you follow the tutorial, which happens to use the exact same part that you have now. That way, you can be sure that your program is correct.

Hi, yeah it was my mistake that i saw two PIC16F877 on the list. Finally i solved the problem. It seems that when i open the created hex file into PICALLW, it modifies the selection of Oscillator. Since am using a 4MHz crystal i modified the oscillator selection to XT.
The program works great. Thanks
