LdMicro32_6_0a & build_5411 FEEDBACK (by Angelo)
Hi José, I hope you are doing well:
I have been busy but I wanted to try your new Ldmicro release. Attached to this file I send you feedback information about LdMicro revolution, build5411 and LdMicro32_5_5b.
I made a file to program PIC16F887 called i2c_LCD__mem_uart_Rx_Tx_16F887.ld
With LdMicro32_6_0a the HEX file is NOT generated.
With build_5411 the HEX file is generated and it works ok.
With LdMicro32_5_5b the HEX file is generated and it works ok.
The same file to program PIC18F4520, JUST NAMED i2c_LCD__mem_uart_Rx_Tx_18F4520.ld
With LdMicro32_6_0a the HEX file is NOT generated.
With build_5411 the HEX file is NOT generated.
With LdMicro32_5_5b the HEX file is NOT generated.

Hi Angelo
Thanks for your feedback.
It's interesting and I'll have a look at it ; but I don't have much time these weeks.
Gimme a few time !

PS:
I'm aware of some pbs in version 6.0 and I've been working on a new release bat I haven't had time to finish !
Note that you can't use a variable called 'char' in your ladder because it's a reserved keyword in C...
To be continued...

LdMicro32_6_0a & build_5411 FEEDBACK (by Angelo)
Thank you very much:
I am looking forward for your new release

Dear Angelo
New version 6 will have to wait a bit...
For the time being you can test new release 5.5c available on Github today:
https://github.com/joegil95/LdMicro32
Your testing ladders (attached above) can now both be compiled for PIC16F887 and PIC18F4520.
It was just a little compiler directive mismatch in C code !
BR
José
PS:
If you can test some other ladders, please remember that I'm interested in your feedbacks to improve ldmicro32 !
moving to Arduino MEGA (by Angelo)
Hi José:
I will try this new release, anyway I am moving to ARDUINO MEGA instead of PIC18F4520 or PIC16F887 because the flash memory is too short in size.
In the case of Arduino Mega is 256 Kb vs 32k (pic18f4520) and 14 k (pic16f887).
I will buy an ARDUINO MEGA and I will report to you the results.
Best Regards
Angelo.

I Angelo
I have several Atmegas.
I personaly think that AVRs are better and easier to use than PICs...
It's strange to see that Microchip has bought Atmel and not the opposite !
Let me know if you encounter problems with ldmicro32.
Consider that v6.0 is rather a beta version. I'll have soon some holidays to work on next release and publish it.
It will include the ability to generate ready made Arduino project ; users will just have to open, build and run under arduino IDE.

LdMicro32_6_0a & build_5411 FEEDBACK (by Angelo)
Hi José:
I will continue testing PIC16F887 and PIC18F4520, I will just add to the list Arduino Mega as well.
I just started testing Arduino Nano using I2C functions and the result is:
LdMicro32_6_0a WORKS O.K
LdMicro32_5_5b In this case Ldmicro Exits itself when trying “Compile Atmel AVR-GCC”
LdMicro32_5_5c In this case Ldmicro Exits itself when trying “Compile Atmel AVR-GCC”
LdMicro build_5411 The corresponding Hex file is generated but the I2C functions DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.
Next week I will buy a Mega Arduino and I will try I2C and UART functions mainly.
I will report to you what is happening.
Greetings!

Hi Angelo
I have tested an I2C ladder for AtMega328-32pins (Like Arduino Nano) with Ldmicro 5.5c and I had no pb to compile / build...
Can you please post your testing ladder ?
Remind that I2C does no longer work with standard Ldmicro because of changes made ; I can't do anything againts it as I don't manage the standard version.
I have tested I2C and UART on an ATMega640 (Compatible with AtMega2560 = Arduino Mega) and it worked...

Mega & Nano tests (by Angelo)
Hi José:
Sorry for not answering before I was kind of busy.
From now on I will be checking the Forum on a regular basis.
I made some tests (attached I send the ladder tests)
Also attached I send the corresponding results
Greetings!!!

Hi Angelo
Thanks for your tests.
I'll take care of them as soon as possible, but for the time being I haven't had time to develop anything new for ldmicro.
