Do PLC like omron really converts adc in real world? (by pekto)
hi sir jonathan, i just wonder do PLC like omron, really convert the analog signal like temperature? or this PLC's are just receiving signals that are came from the another circuit with a temperature sensor that will just sent a logic "1" if this temperature sensor device has already reached the settings of the maximum temperature to alarm?

Hi,

Omron and other PLC have special input card to process analog signal... usualy they convert 0 - 20 ma, 4 - 20 ma, 0 - 10V or -15 - +15 to 16 bit digital signal that can be programmed to do whatever you want... So PLC analog input card are usualy 16 bit Analog to Digital converter

Hope this help
